CDL Training in Tennessee

CDL Testing and training are fairly consistent among all states, however, you have a few that impose more lengthy time requirements or unusual licensing requirements for trainers.  Tennessee has proven to be one of the most proactive states when it comes to ensuring citizens are being provided training by only legitimate training providers.

To see what I mean, try searching Google maps for truck driving schools in Georgia.  You will see pins all over the map appearing at locations that are clearly not driving schools.  You will also see, pins for companies with defunct websites or no website at all.  Basically, there’s a lot of unusual stuff going on in Georgia (sorry Georgia for throwing you under the bus….or truck!)

When you perform the same search for Tennessee, you will not find any of that shady stuff.  All the pins are for real businesses with locations and websites.  Unfortunately, we don’t have a pin yet for Tennessee, because we don’t have a location where customers come to us, but rather we provide our services to an entire service area.  That area happens to be what I call the Nashville, Chattanooga, Knoxville Triangle.

The primary three options for CDL training in Tennessee are trucking schools, technical school programs and employers who offer CDL training.  These are the only options for some individuals.  The two school options tend to be expensive and/or take a lot of time, therefore making them unfeasible for many.  Employers offering CDL training typically lock you into a one to two year contract to pay back the cost of the training, which deters many from choosing this option.

The fourth option is to utilize the services of a traveling provider such as Elite ELDT.  Our Mobile CDL Training service is a great way to avoid expensive and time consuming trucking schools.  Unfortunately, this option is not available to everyone, but for those in the right situation, it’s a gamechanger!  This training is considered private (vs. public) because it must be provided on behalf of an employer.  So if you work for (or own) a company that will sponsor your training, give us a call!  This service is much less expensive and requires much less time than all the other options for CDL training in TN.

You can be confident that our CDL training services are high quality and compliant!  As of the time of this post, we have graduated almost 3,000 students (both online and in person).  Also, our lead trainer has spend over 25 years in the fields of education & commercial driving.  Elite ELDT has even been approved by the Tennessee CDL compliance division to provide CDL training in Tennessee!
